Compact living means choosing quality over quantity.

Through re-thinking the amount of space you need and use, we can design spaces that are generous, high-quality, hard working, and use views and light to maximum effect.

Less is more.
— Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

Smaller = Less Expensive

The construction of a new house in Australia typically costs between $2,000 and $3,500 per square metre. So, by re-thinking and reducing the amount of space required, we immediately reduce costs. Ongoing costs are also reduced, including heating/cooling, power, cleaning and maintenance.

Smaller = More Sustainable

Compact design is environmentally sustainable, through its reduced use of building materials and energy. Future energy consumption is also reduced, with smaller spaces needing less heating/cooling and power.

Designing for quality over quantity requires analysis, consideration and skill. We will work with you to assess your needs and design a clever, multi-functional and high quality home that is a joy to live in.

I’ve always been interested in building small, and I think as far as sustainability goes, compact living, re-using and recycling are the best ways to reduce materials and energy use.
